Hi, I’m Brian
New Game Gear is a small online shop I run out of Garden City, Idaho. It is not a big company with a warehouse full of staff. It is me, a growing catalog, and an inbox at support@new-game-gear.com that I actually read.
I started the shop because putting together a gaming setup is more confusing than it should be. You look for a desk, a keyboard, or a controller for an old console, and you end up with fifty near-identical listings and no idea which details matter. I wanted a place with a smaller, more focused selection and product pages that tell you what you need to know, including the parts that are not perfect.
What we sell
The catalog covers the pieces that make up a desk or game room:
- Gaming desks, including L-shaped desks, a racing-style desk, a desk with drawers and USB ports, and an electric standing desk
- Desk setup gear like monitor arms, risers, keyboard trays and a sit-to-stand converter
- Keyboards and mice, mostly compact 60% and 65% boards that leave room for your mouse
- Controllers for Xbox, PC and Nintendo Switch
- Retro gaming controllers, adapters and power supplies for consoles like the N64, GameCube, SNES, NES and Genesis
- RGB and lighting, from plain LED strips to wall panels
- Audio and streaming basics like mics, boom arms, a webcam and acoustic panels
How I choose products
I am not trying to carry everything. Before I add something, I ask a few simple questions:
- Does it solve a real setup problem? Saving desk space, fixing a sore back, getting an old console running again, or making a room easier to play in.
- Is the information clear? If I cannot confirm the basic specs, dimensions, or compatibility, I do not want to guess on your behalf.
- Is the price fair for what it is? A lot of what I sell is budget and mid-range gear. I would rather say that plainly than dress it up as something premium.
- Can it ship within the US at a reasonable speed? If it cannot, it does not make the cut.
Some of the retro controllers are third-party, brand-new reproductions, not original Nintendo or Sega hardware. I say that on the product page so nobody is surprised.
How shipping really works
I want to be upfront here, because this is where a lot of online shops are vague.
I do not keep every product on a shelf in Garden City. Many orders ship directly from our fulfillment partners’ warehouses. Wherever possible, I choose products that ship from a US warehouse so they reach you faster. Because items can come from different warehouses, an order with more than one item may arrive in separate packages on different days. That is normal and does not mean something is missing, but email me if you are unsure.
The basics:
- We ship to all 50 states and Washington, D.C.
- We do not ship to APO, FPO or DPO military addresses, US territories, or outside the United States.
- Orders under $75 ship for a flat $6.99. Orders of $75 or more ship free.
- Orders are usually prepared within 0 to 2 business days, and most arrive within 2 to 10 business days of ordering.
Full details are on the Shipping Policy page.
Returns and support
If something is wrong, email support@new-game-gear.com with your order number and a short note about the problem. If an item arrived damaged, defective, or was not what you ordered, please include a photo or two of the item and the box. That helps me sort it out with the warehouse or carrier much faster.
I answer email Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Eastern. Most items can be returned within 30 days of delivery. Please email first so I can send return instructions, since returns do not all go to the same place. The full rules are on the Returns & Refunds page.
Questions before you buy
If you are not sure whether a desk fits your room, whether a keyboard has the keys you need, or whether a controller works with your console, just ask. I would much rather answer a question before you order than process a return after.
Thanks for stopping by.
