Why a 60% board
A full-size keyboard is about 17 to 18 inches wide. That is a lot of desk your mouse cannot use. The NC61 drops the number pad, the function row, and the dedicated arrow keys, leaving 61 keys in a footprint that is roughly two-thirds the width. For shooters and other games where you make big, fast mouse swipes at low sensitivity, that extra space makes a real difference.
What magnetic switches mean
Most mechanical keyboards register a press when two metal contacts touch. Magnetic switches use a magnet and a sensor instead, so there is no physical contact to wear out and the keystroke feels smooth from top to bottom.

Getting used to a 60% layout
The first few days take some adjustment. Arrow keys, F1 to F12, Delete and similar keys live on a second layer, which you reach by holding the Fn key. A few tips:
- Print or save the layer map from the manual and keep it nearby for the first week.
- If you rely on arrow keys for work or games, try the Fn combinations before you commit. Some people never get used to it.
- The front-print keycap versions show the secondary functions on the front of the keys, which makes learning the layers easier.
Who should skip it
If you type a lot of numbers, edit spreadsheets, or play games that use the F-keys constantly, a 65% board with dedicated arrows or a bigger layout will probably make you happier. Our Aluminum 65% Tri-Mode Wireless Keyboard is one option.
